STOP! Don't worry - this isn't another site, with another boring
presentation on this boring, rare disease. We want this experience to be impacting and bursting with energy and passion
about RSD. Do you fit the description of someone eager to help? Check out your options!
The three focus points that RSD in Motion
is focused on include awareness, outreach and support. There are many brainstorms and dreams coming from families and RSDers
young and old. Jordan, the founder of RSD in Motion, has put together a PowerPoint presentation on her experience with RSD
and how she, after two and a half years, became a "survivor" of the RSD flame. In association with Dr. Jennifer
Doble, they have put together a presentation that includes the myriad of treatment options that she tried and what multidisciplinary
format worked for her. We would love to come and present this PowerPoint on starting a teen pain program to treat youth with
RSD to you and your team. Write to us at our e-mail address at RSDinMotion@hotmail.com and we will be in contact with you as soon as possible!
National Conference Idea - We need your imput!
RSD
in Motion's Michigan team would like to host a regional or national conference for health professionals of any stature,
people affected by RSD and their families. We would like to hold this at a conference or retreat center that is capable of
lodging upwards of 200 participants for a long weekend (beginning Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon is our goal).
We hope that this will be a time for health professionals to meet RSD affected families and see what needs to change in their
field but also for families and RSDers to get together and talk about their story and their successes.
On
a different twist, we would like to host a conference/camp experience for health professionals/RSD families. Our dream
is to have a week long camping experience for RSD families in Northern Michigan at a large conference and camp center.
We would like to have different health professionals come in and spend a few days at a time with people affected with RSD,
getting to know them on a personal level as opposed to a patient. There is an adult guest lodge that houses 20 guests
at a time. This will be reserved for whatever health professional group is attending their overnight conference.
We would like to invite other health professionals to spend the day with the "campers" to get to know them the entire
week until their session to stay in the lodge comes up. We know that this idea is out there, different and probably
unlike any other conference any heath professional has ever attended, but we hope that the extended invitation will go out
to every single doctor, physical therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, nurse, occupational therapist, and physicians assistant
in the entire state of Michigan and yields many who are eager and open minded to the idea. For both of these HUGE ideas we need several
things to come from any and everyone before any planning takes place. Please give us this gift of fifteen minutes of
your time and fill out this thoughts, ideas and changes sheet so that we can get a general idea on how this would impact you.
We invite anyone to fill this out, health professional, family member, RSDer, general public, etc. Thank you for your
interest in our crazy ideas!
