Lauren is the team leader for both the Illinois and North Carolina branches of RSD in Motion.  She was diagnosed in 2004.   Currently, Lauren is attending college in North Carolina.  Every day is a stuggle;  however, Lauren is determined to make her dreams a reality.

RSD changes people’s lives greatly.  Not only does it change the patient’s life, but their families lives as well.  One of the IL/NC teams major goals is to help support not only RSD patients, but also their families.  We are all in this together and together we can win the battle against RSD!

Awareness is another major goal of the IL/NC team.  RSD patients can often tell you that they have spoken to people about this disorder, including doctors, often they have no idea what RSD is.  Currently, the IL/NC team are working hard on trying to publish editorials in newspapers and magazines around IL/NC to educate people about the disorder.  We do not want anyone to walk into a doctors office and be told that the pain is imagined Also, IL/NC team are trying to get media attention.  We want to share our stories to help spread to spread further awareness.  Finally, our future goal is to put together and host a Walk and Roll-A-Thon.  More details will be coming soon!

Lauren and other memebers of the RSD communtiy have found it extremely helpful to write (poetry, short stores, etc.) as a mechanism to help cope with this disorder. We want to hear from YOU!  Send the IL/NC team your poems and/or short stories.  You don't have to have RSD to write us, you can be a family member or friend of a person who has RSD.  ****Send your entries to rsdinmotionIL@hotmail.com****
