What's Happening in Michigan?
As with the entirety of RSD in Motion, the three focus points for Michigan's team are awareness,
outreach and support. There are many brainstorms and dreams coming from Michigan families and RSDers young
and old. Jordan, the founder of RSD in Motion, lives in Michigan and is working on pushing a proposal for a teen pain management
and rehabilitation program at the University of Michigan Hospital System and at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Without the aid
of a specific doctor, none of this would be possible. One other location, Michigan Pain Specialists, located on Green Road
in Ann Arbor will soon have had this proposal presented to them. Are you a doctor in the Michigan area? We would love to come
and present this plan to you and your team. Write to us at our e-mail address at RSDinMotion@hotmail.com.
Jordan, the founder of RSD in Motion, in addition to the the much needed help from other RSD families in the
Washtenaw County area, have set up a support group for teens and adults affected by RSD and their families. This is a support
group, not a whine and complain party! Helping each other to be survivors makes us stronger together. We talk about our lives and what challenges we face. We are
people, not patients. We talk about the affects of our pain, but don't talk about our pain in description. Together, we
are survivors and not victims. See: www.rsdinmotion.org/a2support.html.
We have a major project that has just
been completed with part of it continuously ongoing. In Dexter, Michigan, where three RSD families live, we have launched
a major campaign for awareness in the schools for two high school girls. This included a presentation at Mill Creek Middle
School for students in their classes and a few staff members, a presentation to sixty seven staff and faculty at Dexter High
School and a ribbon drive! Thank you to all who have contributed so far, this has been an incredible success!
There are so many projects out there just waiting to be discovered! Some projects that we would like to get together
for a local fundraisers to help those affected by RSD. Want to help here? E-mail us with the slightest interest, just ten
minutes of your time can help us change the world.
